Join the student life team on a visit to Bristol's historic harbourside.

M Shed

Bristol People: explores activities past and present that make Bristol what is it; creating, trading and celebrating.

Bristol Places: highlights how and why Bristol has transformed over time, how people have developed various ways in which to move around it and showcases some amazing discoveries that have been made in and around the city.

The Harbourside

Some of the biggest exhibits are outside the M Shed:

Cranes: The electric cranes are a landmark on Bristol's docks, a link to the city's 1950s trading heyday.

Fairbairn Steam Crane: The striking banana-shaped crane is now the oldest surviving exhibit of its type in Britain and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Harbourside steam trains.

Boats: Fire-boat Pyronaut - a crucial part of the docks' fire fighting service for around 40 years.

These are just some of the extraordinary exhibits to be found at the M Shed and along the Harbourside. So why not come and explore them with us.
