Bike Marking - Frenchay Campus

by UWE Campus Police

Why You Should Register Your Bike – And Why UWE Campus Police Offers It for Free

Bike theft is one of the most common crimes affecting students, and losing a bike can be both frustrating and expensive. Registering your bike with BikeRegister is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect it. The system helps deter thieves by marking your bike as traceable, and if the worst happens, it greatly increases the chances of your bike being identified and returned to you.

BikeRegister works in partnership with every police force across the UK, meaning your bike’s details are accessible to officers nationwide. If your bike is stolen and later recovered, police can quickly match it to you and arrange its return.

At UWE, the Campus Police provides this service completely free of charge to support students and help reduce bike theft on campus. By registering your bike, you’re taking a proactive step to protect your property, and you’re joining a wider effort to make the university a safer place for cyclists.

It only takes a few minutes, costs nothing, and could make all the difference, so register your bike and ride with confidence.
